GTECH Stormwater Cistern

The Local Projects Stormwater Cistern team worked with a local Pittsburgh non-profit organization, GTECH, to design an installation plan for a stormwater cistern at a local church. The goal of this project was for the church to be able to capture rainwater, store it, and use it to water a garden they are creating. The team designed an installation plan that will direct water from the gutter downspout into the cistern and include a first flush system to get rid of debris washed off of the roof and an overflow pipe. With the assistance of GTECH, they then assembled the project over two days work.
